displacing kids and families who are currently
enrolled with no regard for their future.
What's Happening?

Basket Range is a small school currently offering a Steiner stream as an alternative learning practice providing choice to families who value the holistic, creative and integrative curriculum that Steiner education provides.
But without consultation with the community, the Department for Education have advised current and 2025 parents that they intend to scrap the popular Steiner stream in favour of a hastily created charter that has been categorically rejected by all parents. We intend to fight this injustice - the choice of an alternative education is available to those in the metro areas, why should the hills be discriminated against?
Basket Range Primary School is faced with closure as parents seek out alternatives to mainstream education.

Our Message
Keep The Steiner Stream
Save the stream, save the school. The department for Education must immediately reverse their decision to close the Steiner Stream. If this goes through, the school will no longer be financially viable and it's likely it will close.

Steiner Teachers
Retain quality Steiner Educators. The success of the school depends on the recruitment of quality educators. We ask that the Department for Education support the merit based appointment of properly trained staff and school leaders.

Hold the Department to Account
The department must support the school to be successful and this means supporting both the dual curriculum offerings. The school is a beautiful and inclusive community where all are welcome.
